Neighbourhood Planning

Since April 2012, local communities have had the power to develop planning policies that can become part of the development plan, or directly to grant planning permission for development through a neighbourhood development order.

Further legislation was enacted in April 2017 with the ambition of speeding up and extending the take up of neighbourhood planning, creating further opportunities for surveyors to provide expert advice in this area.
