Overview

Development in an uncertain and changing landscape.

Development in Norfolk has faced a series of significant challenges in recent years, driven by:

  • The impacts of the COVID‑19 pandemic and resulting shutdowns.
  • Nutrient neutrality restrictions.
  • The war in Ukraine.
  • Rising build costs and broader economic uncertainty
  • The introduction of new government levies and an increasingly complex planning landscape.

Join us to hear from Max Barnes, who will discuss the current state of affairs and where the proposed changes to the council framework might create risks or opportunities.

Max Barnes is a director in the development team at Savills, where he specialises in the acquisition and sale of development land opportunities and provides development consultancy advice across Norfolk and Suffolk. Max has worked in the property industry for 20 years; before joining Savills, he was managing director of the property division at  investment specialists Albanwise Wallace Estates.
