Overview
Approximately one in four residential buildings globally have been earmarked as ‘Complex-to-decarbonise'. These buildings are often older buildings, heritage properties, high rise blocks, and homes with restricted space. Over the years, the identification and strategy proposition of these CtD residential buildings has been neglected.
The global consensus to reach Net Zero by 2050 and reduce carbon emissions makes it imperative to identify CtD homes and propose solutions.
How do we come about defining and identifying CtD homes? What indicators should we be assessing? What are the challenges to retrofitting these homes? And what strategies have been implemented globally to address these challenges?
