Meet the 2026 RICS Matrics Awards Judging panel

Cartier Charles MRICS

Cartier is a Chartered Surveyor specialising in strategic asset management, estate strategy, regeneration and development. Alongside her professional role, she serves as the Next Generation representative on the RICS Governing Council, ensuring the views of students and early-career professionals are represented. As an RICS Inspire Ambassador and regular speaker, Cartier is passionate about attracting, supporting and empowering future talent across the profession. Cartier was RICS Matrics Ambassador of the Year 2025.

Habibul Islam MRICS

Habibul is a Chartered Project Manager with more than 16 years of experience delivering complex projects across the built environment. His portfolio includes higher education, healthcare, residential and life sciences developments. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Habibul serves as Chair of Muslims in Construction and APC Ambassador for LionHeart. He is passionate about mentoring, professional development and creating opportunities for future surveying professionals.

Sonya Swaley

Sonya is an Apprentice Building Surveyor at Murray Birrell Chartered Surveyors and recently completed her Building Surveying degree through an apprenticeship at London South Bank University. Over the past five years, she has gained experience across commercial, residential and heritage projects, with a particular interest in historic buildings and contract administration. Sonya is also a passionate advocate for apprenticeships and increasing the visibility of women in construction, using her experiences to inspire future professionals. Sonya was the RICS Matrics Apprentice of the Year 2025.

John Haylett MRICS

John is a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor with extensive experience delivering surveying, project management and capital maintenance programmes across the public and private sectors. He has led multidisciplinary teams, managed complex property portfolios and advised on compliance, refurbishment and net-zero strategies. John is passionate about the built environment and committed to supporting future construction professionals through mentoring, education and industry engagement.

Richard Moxon BSc FRICS FQSi

Richard retired from practice just over three years ago and is the panels Commercial category Judge. A former Chair of the Regional RICS Awards Judging panel in the West Midlands, he has been involved in the RICS Awards for a number of years. He is also former Chair of RICS UK & Ireland World Regional Board and sat on Governing Council for a number of years. Richard specialises in commercial property management together with Landlord and Tenant issues and has recently taken up a position as a visiting lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton helping develop the next generation of RICS members. He has recently been elected as Global Vice President for QSi, taken up the role as Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Lench Trust in Birmingham along with other charity Trustee appointments.

Chris Green MRICS

Chris has more than 15 years of experience delivering commercial and contract management services across major infrastructure projects, including Crossrail, Hinkley Point C and HS2. Since achieving chartered status in 2017, he has become a strong advocate for developing emerging talent. Chris actively supports APC candidates as a counsellor, contributes to assessment panels and mentors colleagues across the profession. His experience in major projects and commitment to professional development make him a valuable member of the judging panel.

Jen Lemen FRICS

Jen is Co-Founder of Property Elite, a Chartered Surveyor, author and RICS APC Assessor. With nearly 20 years of experience in commercial property, she is widely recognised for supporting surveyors through education, mentoring and professional development. Jen is also a property consultant, RICS Registered Valuer and Accredited Mediator. Through her books, training programmes and industry involvement, she continues to help surveying professionals achieve their career ambitions.

Nitin Boodhun MRICS MBA

Nitin is Founding Director of Kingswood and has more than 20 years of experience in real estate investment, lending and development advisory. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor holding an MBA in Real Estate, he has advised lenders, investors and developers on complex projects across international markets. Nitin is a recognised speaker, mentor and industry thought leader who actively supports the next generation of surveying professionals through assessment, mentoring and professional engagement.

Rajesh Gohil AssocRICS

Rajesh is a RICS Registered Valuer and founder of Inspect Property Ltd. With more than 20 years of experience in the residential property sector, he leads a team delivering surveys and valuations across the East Midlands. A former RICS Matrics Chair and advisory board member, Rajesh is a strong advocate for professional development and the promotion of surveying careers. He remains committed to supporting the profession through networking, mentoring and industry engagement.

Carolina Lopato Ricorico MRICS MAPM

Carolina is a building consultant and Senior Project Manager with more than 10 years of experience across engineering, surveying and project delivery. She has led multidisciplinary teams on refurbishment, compliance and asset improvement programmes throughout the UK. A passionate advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, Carolina actively supports mentoring initiatives and works to improve access and opportunities across the built environment profession.

Mhairi Robertson MRICS

Mhairi is Head of Land Assembly Scotland at Savills, leading teams delivering land rights and stakeholder engagement for major energy, utilities and infrastructure projects. An RICS APC Assessor and Counsellor, she is committed to supporting future surveyors and promoting professional excellence across the industry. Having been named RICS Matrics Land and Natural Resources Surveyor of the Year 2025, Mhairi brings both technical expertise and a passion for recognising outstanding talent within the profession.

Matthew Trewartha FRICS

Matthew has extensive experience managing commercial, residential and telecommunications portfolios across the UK. As Head of Property Management for HS2, he oversees more than 1,900 assets between London and Manchester. Matthew also serves as an APC Assessor, Chair and Moderator for the Rural and Land & Resources pathways, giving him extensive insight into professional standards and candidate development. He is committed to supporting surveyors as they progress towards chartered status.

Priyanka Duggal MRICS

Priyanka is a Chartered Commercial Director with more than 15 years of experience leading the commercial delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects. Her expertise includes commercial management, cost planning, contract administration and risk management. Alongside her professional responsibilities, Priyanka is an active RICS Supervisor, Counsellor and Mentor, helping candidates achieve chartered status. Recognised as RICS Mentor of the Year 2025, she is dedicated to developing future talent and championing inclusive workplaces.

Oliver Heselton FRICS

Oliver is a Chartered Surveyor and agricultural valuer with more than 30 years of experience across utilities, infrastructure and land management. A Director at Dalcour Maclaren, he leads land teams working on major projects across energy and infrastructure sectors. Oliver previously spent more than 14 years with National Grid and has contributed to government working groups on land rights reform. He remains committed to sharing his experience and supporting professional development across the industry.

Matthew Talliss FRICS

Matthew is a Senior Commercial Director at Arcadis and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. With extensive experience across major UK infrastructure programmes, he combines technical expertise with strong leadership and a commitment to professional excellence. Matthew serves on the RICS UK & Ireland World Regional Board and actively supports APC programmes. In 2025, he was named both Construction Surveyor of the Year and overall RICS Matrics Surveyor of the Year.

Richard Golding AssocRICS

Richard is a Chartered Surveyor, business leader with more than 15 years of experience across real estate, strategic growth, innovation and sustainability and previous Matrics UK Chair (2023-2024). As an Associate Director at Gleeds, he supports clients through complex challenges while promoting long-term value and positive change. Richard is actively involved in industry initiatives and is passionate about mentoring emerging talent, building collaboration and helping shape the future of the built environment.

William Holden MRICS

William is Director of Holdens Chartered Surveyors & Building Consultancy. Passionate about raising standards across the profession, he founded the Holdens Surveying Training Group, which supports hundreds of surveyors through APC guidance, mentoring and professional development opportunities. William is committed to encouraging new entrants into the profession and helping surveyors develop successful careers. In recognition of his contribution to professional development, he was named RICS Matrics Residential Surveyor of the Year 2025.

Sophie Bullock MRICS

Sophie is a Chartered Surveyor, RICS Registered Valuer and Director of Aston Knowles and Marwood Surveyors. With more than 18 years of experience across residential and commercial property, she specialises in valuation, consultancy and complex property matters. Sophie is passionate about delivering exceptional client service while maintaining the highest professional standards. Alongside her professional responsibilities, she actively supports career development, mentors colleagues and champions excellence across the surveying profession.

Tim Kenny AssocRICS

Tim is a residential surveying specialist, industry trainer and Associate Lecturer at UCEM. Through his surveying practice, training work and educational activities, he supports the development of future professionals in building pathology, sustainability and residential surveying. A frequent contributor to industry publications, Tim advocates clear, client-focused communication and a practical approach to surveying. He is passionate about improving understanding and confidence throughout the home-buying process.

Aled Jenkins MRICS

Aled is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 25 years of international experience across major capital projects. His expertise spans cost management, estimating, commercial leadership and lender monitoring services. Having advised clients across the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East, Aled has successfully delivered projects in the sports, aviation, hospitality and infrastructure sectors. He is committed to developing high-performing teams and delivering long-term value for clients and stakeholders.

Andrew McCall MRICS

Andrew is a Director and RICS Registered Valuer at Allied Surveyors Scotland. With extensive experience in residential valuation and Home Reports, he is recognised for his technical expertise, local market knowledge and client-focused approach. A former member of RICS Matrics Glasgow, Andrew was named RICS Matrics Valuation Surveyor of the Year 2025. He remains dedicated to supporting professional development and advancing standards within the valuation sector.

Gemma Alderman AssocRICS

Gemma is a Technical Trainer at e.surv Chartered Surveyors with a background in residential valuation. After several years working as a valuation surveyor, she moved into Learning and Development, where she now supports aspiring surveyors through structured training programmes. An AssocRICS Assessor and RICS Ambassador, Gemma is committed to widening access to the profession, promoting surveying careers and helping candidates achieve their professional goals.
