The RICS Matrics Surveyor Awards are back for their 11th year to showcase the exceptional talent within the surveying profession in the UK.
This annual event, which has honoured the achievements of up-and-coming surveyors for a decade, celebrates the innovation and hard work of emerging professionals in the surveying industry. The RICS Matrics Surveyor of the Year Awards play a significant role in showcasing the talented diverse next generation to the surveying profession. By acknowledging the achievements of surveyors from various backgrounds, the awards provide visible and relatable role models for aspiring professionals. This representation can inspire individuals from underrepresented groups to pursue careers in surveying, as they see people like themselves succeeding in the field.
These prestigious awards provide an opportunity for individuals and employers to commend the highest standards of professionalism and innovation within the built environment. They honor those who have made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the industry, while also celebrating them as leaders in their field.
Judging will be undertaken by industry experts who ensure integrity and rigour, culminating with an evening of celebration being held on 15 November at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.

With extensive RICS involvement and leadership roles, he also mentors APC candidates and contributes to industry publications and awards as a judge and editorial advisor.

Ian, a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 25 years' experience in the UK and Hong Kong, specialises in Building Surveying and Fire Risk Assessment, focusing on high-risk residential structures post-Grenfell Tower. He serves as an APC assessor and contributes to the Building Surveying and Building Control Professional Group Panel, shaping the future of the industry through RICS.

Yulia, a Chartered Surveyor with extensive strategic experience, drives urban development and regeneration projects. David is an independent consultant specialising in mineral and waste management property issues. He chairs the RICS Land & Natural Resources Professional Group Panel and contributes to the RICS Knowledge & Practice Committee, while also serving as a Director for the Katherine Martin Charitable Trust and an operational member of the Derby Mountain Rescue Team.

Frank has built a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the construction and real estate sectors, marked by pioneering achievements in sustainable development. His roles have included significant contributions to green building certifications, strategic leadership in real estate sustainability policies, and innovative initiatives as the Technical and Innovation Director of the French Real Estate Developer Federation.

Ruth advises on professional matters in the Utilities & Infrastructure sector, with extensive experience in negotiations, consents, and land acquisition for water, electricity, and gas industries. Dayle, a Chartered Building Surveyor and Project Manager with 13 years of practice, has served on the RICS Matrics UK and Ireland board and Governing Council. She is Vice Chair of Orwell Housing Association, Chair of Orwell Homes, and a former Board Member of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education.
