The RICS Awards creates a unique platform to showcase innovations and achievements in New Zealand’s natural and built environment, as well as encourage development and advancements within the industry. Continuing these good causes, the RICS Awards aims to attract wider participation from the sector, whereby promoting the highest professional standards, pioneering better places to live and work, and creating a force for positive social impact. We look forward to receiving visionary and inspiring nominations this year.

Bringing over 30 years of international property experience, Mark heads the Property and Procurement functions at TSB Bank with a focus on optimisation, sustainability, and compliance. With a passion for the built environment and experience across the UK, Middle East and Australasia, Mark has an extensive background in property consultancy, acquisition and divestment of property, asset management, leasing, and tenant representation. Mark is an APC Chairperson and passionate advocate for RICS standards and professionalism.

Assurance Manager, Landcorp Farming Limited

Victoria has significant experience in environmental planning, policy development, compliance and sustainability, having been involved in resource management and strategic planning for over 30 years. Her extensive experience of effective planning regulation and engagement across multi-disciplinary teams saw Victoria appointed as a key member of the local government planning recovery working group following the Canterbury earthquakes. This small team were appointed to work with the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority to develop strategic plans, planning regulation and redevelopment opportunities required to achieve urgent redevelopment while ensuring sustainable urban development and communities. Victoria has extensive experience with both rural and urban planning to achieve effective and efficient sustainable land and water use. These skills are now being used to identify synergies, gaps and opportunities in her current role as an assurance manager.

Director, Axiom Building Consultants

Geoff is a director of Axiom Building Consultants delivering professional consultancy advice on commercial property, with specialisms in lease reinstatement, maintenance planning, defect diagnosis, and condition reporting. Throughout his career Geoff has worked to find solutions that balance the technical aspects of building construction and regulation with the commercial goals of building owners and occupiers. He has been a chartered building surveyor for over 17 years, originally working for multi-disciplinary real estate firms in the United Kingdon, before re-locating to Christchurch in 2015. Geoff is returning for the second year to the RICS Awards New Zealand judging panel. In the past Geoff has been a supervisor, counsellor, and assessor for the RICS APC, and is passionate about supporting people into the profession. Outside of work Geoff enjoys the outdoors and is an active volunteer with the Civil Defence Response Teams, as well as being an Emergency Medical Technician with St John.

Robyn Phipps FRICS & Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient

Dean of Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation, Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington

Professor Robyn Phipps is the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design Innovation at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. She is an experienced academic leader and is excited to deliver a transformative new Construction and Building Science programme that will increase technologies such as robotic fabrication, sustainability, embedded digital tools, and a new Masters in Construction Law. She is also leading the new Joint programmes with Zhengzhou University, in Henan province, China. She has extensive experience in zero-carbon buildings, energy efficiency and productivity. She is a Fellow of RICS and BIA, a past Director of NZGBC, and a past Trustee of the NZ Property Foundation. She Chaired the MoE’s Ventilation Technical Advisory Group during the pandemic, and was a Co-Chair of the He Kianga Oranga Healthy Housing Research group, which won the Prime Minister’s Research Team prize in 2014 and the Rutherford team prize in 2021.

Donna Chapman, a distinguished Chartered Building Surveyor, brings over eighteen years of client-centric expertise spanning Scotland and New Zealand. Recognised for her expertise in building defect analysis, New Zealand Building Legislation compliance, and thorough building condition assessments and due diligence surveys, she excels in asset, project, and contract management. Donna's journey from Graduate Building Surveyor in Scotland, to her current role as Senior Asset Manager and technical lead for Building Surveying at WSP New Zealand, reflects her well-rounded expertise. Her integrity, ethics, and competency have earned her utmost respect among peers and cultivated enduring client relationships, making her an indispensable asset to the industry.

Victoria Allan, MRICS, MPINZ

Director, Extensor Advisory

Victoria has been practicing as a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and registered valuer for over 20 years and undertakes valuation throughout New Zealand for significant corporate clients. She joined Extensor Advisory in 2016 and since then has taken an active interest in compulsory acquisition and valuations required in accordance with the Public Works Act 1981 (PWA). In addition to this work, Victoria regularly advises clients on other valuation matters, often to support litigation or other dispute resolution. Prior to joining Extensor, Victoria was a director and manager of the Auckland valuation team at Darroch and prior to that had worked in valuation and property management at Colliers International as well as working overseas. Victoria has appeared as an expert witness in the Land Valuation Tribunal, at mediations and in arbitrations and expert determinations. She has also been called upon as an expert witness in the High Court.

Michael Holloway brings more than 30 years’ property investment experience across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he is an award winning fund manager and former Chair of the Property Council of New Zealand Auckland Branch. Michael has held senior leadership roles including General Manager Property Investment at Kiwi Property, and is currently Head of Strategic Property Advisory at Frequency. He has extensive governance experience, serving as an independent director of PMG Funds, Smith & Caughey Limited, and Mount Wellington Trust Hotels, and as a Trustee of the Mount Wellington Charitable Trust. He also chairs and contributes to several investment committees across public and private organisations including Dilworth Trust.

Ben is a dedicated surveyor who has a ‘passion for property’, having moved from the U.K. and has been living in New Zealand for 12 years. He has worked across a number of ‘codes’ during his career from Estate Management, Auction, Building Surveying and Valuation.

Commercial Manager, New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Binil is a commercial leader and Chartered Quantity Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience across New Zealand, India and the Middle East. He has worked across consultancy, contractor and client-side environments, with experience spanning building, infrastructure, government, commercial, residential, education, healthcare, hospitality, marine and water-related projects, as well as other specialist construction sectors. Binil is currently Commercial Manager at the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where he provides commercial leadership across governance, procurement strategy, contract strategy, commercial risk management and cost management for complex international property and infrastructure programmes. Alongside his industry career, he has contributed to the development of future construction professionals through nearly a decade of teaching in New Zealand’s Built Environment sector. He is an RICS Ambassador and a member of the RICS New Zealand Member Engagement Group Policy Advocacy Group.

Katie Reddish is a Principal in Asset Management within the Property & Buildings team at WSP New Zealand. Katie has broad experience across property, infrastructure, and public and private sector portfolios. Katie began a career in asset and portfolio management with Grosvenor and the Crown Estate in central London, before moving to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2011 and working with Kāinga Ora. Prior to joining WSP, Katie spent eight years in infrastructure and property advisory roles with KPMG, supporting central and local government clients across health, justice, and social infrastructure portfolios. Katie specialises in strategic property advisory, portfolio planning, business case development, and investment decision making, with a strong focus on good governance, sound judgement, and long term value. Katie brings a practical, collaborative approach and is motivated by improving outcomes for users of buildings and the communities they serve.

Dr Deborah Levy was a Professor of Property at the University of Auckland Business School. She is internationally recognized for her behavioural research focusing on property markets and is widely published in academic property journals. She is passionate about creating opportunities to bring academia and the profession together in order to produce outcomes beneficial to professionals, academics, and students. Dr Levy is a fellow of RICS and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.
