Overview

It is crucial for property professionals to understand that their actions add or detract from the overall investment value of property. Being able to value a property will put you at the top of your profession and help you to retain your clients. This one-day course is designed to equip property professionals, or anyone who has little or no knowledge of property valuation and market assessment, to recognise the purpose of valuations and the importance of cash flow timings, and to understand how to improve property value through active management.

Learning objectives

Meet the trainer

Mr Johnny Siu FRICS, FHKIS MBA(HKU)

Mr Siu has been a chartered general practice surveyor for 27 years and is now a senior professional in the civil services. He has been serving both the RICS and HKIS as an APC assessor since 1993. Before joining the HKSAR Government. Mr Siu was an executive in HSBC group and had worked in the Marketing Department at Wayfoong Property Limited and the Group Head Property Office, HSBC for over 13 years.

Mr Siu is the co-author of the book, Valuation of Development Land in Hong Kong (2001 edition). This book has been used as a standard textbook for surveying students in universities and is the only valuation textbook written by a practicing surveyor who is still handling property valuations daily.
