RICS’ key recommendations on accelerating the Northern Metropolis and advancing industry development

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the Hong Kong SAR government’s consultation on the First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development (2026–2030).

As part of RICS’ engagement with the Development Bureau (DEVB), we have put forward a series of key recommendations focusing particularly on accelerating the Northern Metropolis, advancing regional industry development and strengthening the long-term competitiveness of Hong Kong’s built environment.

Drawing on the professional expertise and market insights of RICS members, the recommendations highlight practical considerations to support the effective implementation of Hong Kong’s long-term development priorities.
