MRICS, Director, Allison Surveying Limited
I am a director of Allison Surveying Limited, a small family surveying practice specialising in historic buildings and listed building consent. I believe that traditional buildings and traditional materials naturally provide for a more sustainable built environment and create healthy environments for their users. I applied to join the board because I hope it will provide opportunities to facilitate better member engagement with the RICS at a local level. As a starting point I have helped relaunch the Norwich area networking lunch-and-lecture series and hope to build on this with further member events. I am an APC assessor, counsellor and mentor, and an Inspire Ambassador. Additionally, Allison Surveying has joined Norfolk Pro Help which provides pro-bono assistance to charities in Norfolk.

During that time I have been lucky to work on a broad range of projects from £100k to >£1bn across multiple sectors including commercial, health, science, education, residential and manufacturing. As a board member I am excited by the opportunity to give back to the profession and to help grow engagement across the region. This will support frequent, valuable and well attended events that can help get us on the front foot, driving change across the industry and region. Outside of work I am a recent father, a keen martial artist and a bit of a petrol head. I can usually be found on long walks enjoying our local countryside.
