Overview

The installation of windfarms off the coast of Norfolk requires a detailed understanding of the seabed and the conditions below.

This talk will cover the methodology and processes being followed, the technology being used and explain some of the more interesting and exciting discoveries such as well-preserved archaeology from the sunken continent of Doggerland, unexploded ordnance and more.

Speaker

Roger is registered as a Chartered Geologist with the Geological Society and has over 30 years of experience with offshore geophysical investigations of pipelines, interconnectors, rigs and windfarms. He started his career with Gardline Geosurvey over in Great Yarmmouth and is now Technical Authority for Geophysics for SSE Renewables.

His role at SSE Renewables is to provide the engineering and consenting teams, with geophysical data to support FEED for foundation and cable route design and installation.

 

There will be a buffet lunch available for attendees from 12:00 with the talk beginning at 12:45.
