Overview

Global demand for sustainable buildings is often described as strong, yet the reality is more complex. While awareness and intent are high, consistent growth in demand is proving harder to sustain. Drawing on insights from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Sustainability Report 2025 and the Saint-Gobain Sustainable Construction Barometer, this webinar will explore the growing disconnect between ambition and action across the built environment.

The webinar will unpack what is driving this gap. From limited adoption of carbon measurement practices and ongoing policy uncertainty to persistent skills shortages, the conversation will examine the structural and practical barriers shaping demand. The session will also examine the drivers of positive change, and look at some of the strategies proving more effective in matching action to ambition in the context of a challenging macro-economic climate.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of the current demand landscape and the practical actions needed to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable built environment.
