We are delighted to announce the appointment of Michael Hardman MRICS as the new Chair of the Americas World Regional Board (AMR WRB) and a Member of the Global Members Committee (GMC). Michael will officially begin his tenure in July 2025, succeeding Chris Smith MRICS, who will be stepping down after a successful term as Chair. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to Chris for his invaluable contributions during his time in the role.

Regarding his new appointment, Michael shared, “It is an absolute honor and a career highlight to be appointed as the RICS Chair of Americas World Regional Board. I am deeply passionate about the RICS and the difference we make as an organization to our members, the sectors in which we work, and the communities in which we operate. In my dual role as Chair and a part of the Global Members Committee, I am fully committed to helping the RICS continue to serve our members and promote our professionals globally, but more closely to home for me in the Americas too, where we have great growth ambitions. I would like to thank the Board for their trust in me and pay tribute to Chris Smith as he leaves the position of Chair after three great years of success and hard work—Chris has really left a great legacy. I can’t wait to get started and I am really excited to take on the role.”

The appointment process was led by Douglas McCormick FRICS, Chair of the Global Members Committee, and included Georgia Bergers MRICS, a member of the Americas World Regional Board, and Sarah New, an Independent Recruitment Panellist. We extend our special thanks to Douglas, Georgia, and Sarah for their dedication and commitment throughout the recruitment process.

With Michael now appointed as Chair, the next phase is the recruitment of new members to the Americas WRB. Further opportunities are available, and for any inquiries, please visit - Join the Americas World Regional Board or reach out to Ellie Cunningham.
