We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Dave Hallam MRICS as the new chair of the Hong Kong Board. Dave will serve a three-year term, effective from 1 September 2018. Dave has been a member of the Board since 2016.

Dave is an executive director and the Head of Business Advisory for Arcadis Hong Kong & Macau. He oversees the development and delivery of the asset, strategy and performance, and business assurance propositions across multiple clients and sectors.

He has 20 years' experience as a chartered surveyor and over that time has led the set-up and delivery of asset management platforms and major works programmes worldwide. Dave moved to Hong Kong from the UK in 2010 to take up the role of Operations Director for the outsourced real estate function of a major financial institution in Hong Kong.

As Chair, Dave will lead the Hong Kong Board by supporting the adoption of RICS qualification and professional standards. He will promote diversity within the profession, help attract the next generation of talent, and drive the digital agenda to address technological advancements disrupting our industry. He will also collaborate with Hong Kong government and public bodies to establish RICS as the leading voice in issues that concern our profession.

I’m honoured to be given this opportunity to represent RICS in what is a very exciting period in the development of Hong Kong. I firmly believe that our profession has a big role to play in shaping Hong Kong’s future and I look forward to being part of this.
