"I hold an RICS-approved qualification"

Your options for becoming RICS qualified

RICS offers two qualifications: Chartered (MRICS) and Associate (AssocRICS).

You can apply for direct entry or to enrol on an assessment as soon as you meet the requirements RICS have set for your RICS-approved qualification.

Chartered (MRICS)

You are eligible to enrol for the following assessments (listed in order of most relevance).

Option 1: Direct entry

If you hold an RICS-approved qualification from another professional body and meet the stated experience requirements, you can apply immediately for the RICS chartered qualification (MRICS). After applying you must complete the RICS ethics module before MRICS is awarded.

Option 2: Access to chartered assessment

If you hold an RICS-approved qualification from another professional body and meet the stated experience requirements, you are exempt from the bachelor’s degree requirement for enrolment on one of the RICS chartered assessments.

Option 3: Are you in a senior or specialist role?

If you have over 10 years’ experience you may be eligible for the senior professional or specialist assessment. To be eligible you must also meet the senior profile or specialist profile.

Associate (AssocRICS)

If you hold an RICS-approved qualification from another professional body and meet the stated experience requirements, you can apply immediately for the RICS associate qualification (AssocRICS). After applying you must complete the RICS ethics module before AssocRICS is awarded.
