How to pay your RICS professional fee

Renew by credit/debit card

To renew your professional fee instantly by credit/debit card, simply login to your RICS online account and select Professional Fees from the menu on the left-hand side. The online service allows you to pay 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you are making a payment outside of the UK, please be aware that you might incur an international handling fee This fee is charged by your provider and will not be reimbursed by the RICS.

Renew by phone

Professionals based in the UK, Ireland and Europe can pay via our automated payment line. This service allows you to pay 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

To pay using this service, please call 02476 868 555 and follow the instructions provided. Please ensure you have your 7-digit RICS membership number to hand.

Alternatively, you can speak to one of our Membership Support Team who can take your payment securely using our card payment industry compliant system. To use this service please contact your local office, details can be found here.

We will never ask you for your card details these will be input securely using your phone keypad.

Renew by direct debit

Professionals based within the UK with a UK bank account can pay their professional fee via Direct Debit. To set-up a direct debit or to amend the details of an existing direct debit, simply login to your RICS online account and select Professional Fees from the menu on the left-hand side. There are now two payment cycles available:

Annual:

On an annual cycle, the total fee will be taken in one instalment on or immediately after the 1st of January each year. If your direct debit is set up after the January cut off the instalment will be taken on or immediately after the 1st of the following month.

Monthly:

On a monthly cycle, the total fee will be spread over 10 instalments. The instalments will be taken on or immediately after the first working day of each month from 1st of January – 1st of October. If your direct debit is set up after the January cut off your fee will be spread across the remaining instalments.

The full amount of any levies, administrative charges and/or LionHeart donations will be taken on the first instalment date.

Renew by bank transfer

To pay for your professional fees via BACS, simply login to your RICS online account and select Professional Fees from the menu on the left-hand side. Within the payment methods tab of the professional fees portal, you can select Bank Transfer as your preferred payment method. You will be presented with our bank details to arrange your payment. Failure to make a bank transfer following acceptance of your renewal, or using an incorrect reference on your payment, will result in reminder notices being issued, and may impact your professional status. Payments that cannot be identified will be returned to the issuing bank account.

Please remember you must use your 7-digit RICS Membership number as your payment reference.
