There are 15,000 candidates enrolled in the UK and who require support on their journey to qualification.

In order to ensure that RICS' professional qualifications remain in demand, we need a qualification process that supports our candidates and gives them confidence in RICS as a modern global professional body.

Insight gathered from stakeholders in this area, including APC journey focus groups, indicated that candidates and firms need a more flexible and far-reaching service to match their needs.

From 13 September 2019, RICS launched the refreshed Candidate Support Programme, comprising of a digital service and face-to-face support at a local level. The digital service consists of a programme of ten interactive webinars covering the qualification process, hosted at varying times. Run by Candidate Support Coordinators, candidates now have an accessible programme they can fit around their existing business commitments. There will be support on the webinars from APC Mentors who will join the sessions and be available to ensure technical advice remains available where needed. The face-to-face support will be delivered through Matrics events, regional activities and graduate induction days. The Coordinators will also be available at APC assessment centres, and, working alongside Lionheart, will provide important well-being support as well.

This new service will ensure that there is a consistency of support for all candidates and firms, irrespective of location. The feedback has so far been very positive from candidates and stakeholders, who have said it is refreshing, exciting, and great that RICS are taking a proactive approach to support.

This is an exciting opportunity and will enable RICS to be a sustainable profession fit for the 21st Century. To contact the Candidate Support Coordinators and find out how they can support you, or to book on a webinar, you can either email our dedicated APC support team, or contact Georgi and Sonia directly.
