RICS at 150
Celebrate our 150-year history
22 AUG 2018
This September and October, RICS President John Hughes FRICS will be travelling to each UK region to meet and engage with RICS professionals, celebrate the undeniable positive impact the profession has had on society over the last 150 years, and what we’re doing to ensure our professionals continue to add the most value to our built environment over the next 150 years.
Each of the President’s visits to the regions are free for RICS professionals and offer CPD as well as an opportunity to understand more about his objectives and what we’re doing to prepare our professionals and property markets for future challenges – from climate change, to urbanisation and rapid technological innovation.
As part of this, you’ll hear more about our Governing Council’s fact-finding Future of the Profession research which will help us understand how these challenges are reshaping firms, services and professional practices, and how the profession is adapting to new technologies and changes. The report from the research will also address what RICS must do to ensure surveyors have the skills and competencies to help deliver our future communities that are fit-for-purpose.
There will also be an opportunity during each visit to hear from other industry experts and find out more about our latest activities and initiatives to attract and retain a more diverse and inclusive workforce and improve the rapidly worsening skills shortages. You’ll also gain an insight into our Pride in the Profession initiative which aims to celebrate and showcase inspirational surveyors that have had a positive and significant impact on society.
Reserve your place at the RICS President’s visit to your region – each session will be followed by an opportunity for guests to ask the President questions, along with a networking lunch.
