This seminar utilises current Malaysian small projects case study to identify the current ideal digital design and delivery environment, using best practice international standards, and contrasts it with current traditional reality. It then considers the overall industry environment and what steps are necessary to achieve a complete digital design and delivery environment.
Dr John Rogers, Executive Director, thinkBIM Malaysia
John specialises in digitalising the built environment, a sector in which he has spent much of his career. His expertise is in the adoption of BIM (Building Information Modelling), the disruptive digital technology revolutionising the built environment by optimising the design, delivery and use of buildings.
John undertakes his own BIM modelling on small projects and BIM manages larger projects with international teams. For the Malaysian government, he was an author of the Construction Industry Transformation Plan (CITP) 2020, the National BIM Guide and has developed strategic initiatives for off-site, modular construction.
Recently, he has advised on bilateral trade development between UK and Malaysia, supporting Smart City technology export plans for UK government and business, and is a part-time Assistant Professor teaching strategy to MBA students. Prior to this, he managed the digitalisation of telecoms and banking organisations.
