Unmissable

As the UK prepares to leave the European Union and with the uncertainty surrounding the rural sector it is now more crucial than ever to engage and discuss with industry colleagues on how to build resilience in the sector. RICS Rural Conference comes back in Wales and will provide you with a platform to discuss what the future of the rural sector might look like and how you can harness more commercial opportunities in the face of challenges and uncertainty.

A key discussion for this year will be on one of the government’s proposal – Public money for public goods – and how this new mechanism for land management would work in practice. Other sessions will include crucial legal updates such as the Electronic Communications Code and implications for landowners and mobile operators, agricultural tenancy reforms, common land in Wales and many more.

Attend this conference to benefit from these high-level discussions, as well as ample networking opportunities with your peers in the industry.

Sessions

  • Agriculture and Brexit – challenges and opportunities
This session will address the key issues in the UK’s agriculture sector while also looking at the government’s proposed land management mechanism – public money for public goods – and how farming should be supported in the UK.
  • The Electronic Communications Code
Take a look at the provisions and operations of the new code and understand crucial elements that telecommunications, landowners and surveying professionals need to be aware of. In addition, get the latest guidance on valuation of rights in accordance with the ECC Code 2017.
  • Shooting rights
Delivered by The British Association for Shooting and Conservation, this session focuses on sporting rights, resulting environmental benefits and the contributions to the rural economy.
  • Agricultural Tenancy Reforms

  • Regenerative landscape
Based on a recent RICS Insight Paper, this will look at rejuvenation of linked livelihoods and catchment ecosystem services while drawing from both global and local case studies.
