Overview

A knowledge of commercial and residential property inspection is fundamental to providing accurate property advice. This includes understanding the main requirements and reasons for conducting an inspection, and being able to apply basic inspection techniques to identify common potential defects, material defects of buildings (both structural and environmental) and the related implications.

You will be guided through the key steps and principles of performing property inspections including, why and when you will need to perform a property inspection, relevant legislation, rules and standards, identifying common defects and their implications as well as health and safety practice during an inspection.

Meet the trainer

Mr PF Chan MRICS
MHKIS (BS,PFM), MCIOB, MHKIE, FHKICM, BEAM Pro, RPS(BS), RPE(BUD), AP(S), RI(S)

Mr PF Chan is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 30 years post-qualification experience in building surveying practice with regard to the control, development, maintenance and management of various kinds of properties embracing the core competences of the RICS building surveying pathway. He has been the RICS APC assessor/chairperson since 2005. He also serves as assessor / council member of other local professional institutions in building surveying and construction management respectively.
