When considering the development viability for property, you must 'stand back and look' at various financial and planning considerations rather than rely on a prescriptive method or computer programme. Specifically, this includes determining where a development is suitable, what are the key inputs and information required, and pitfalls of which you must be aware. The course will be delivered from the perspective of a surveyor undertaking a development appraisal for either a development consultancy or loan security purposes. The session will combine technical references and practical exercises including the completion of an appraisal.
